FAQ
-
Will learning to coach Downhill Skating actually transform my players?
I used to wonder the same thing. But I thought that if NHLers were doing different movements than what was being commonly taught, why were we still teaching the same old methods? Once I started to understand what the NHLers were doing different, and showed it to my players, they started improving faster and faster.

Can any coach learn and teach this? Doesn't it require years of experience?
I was worried that this methodology was too specialized for most coaches to learn. I have a degree from a top university, I played pro, and I've been coaching for over 10 years. But then I have been able to teach this method to teenagers, pros with no coaching experience, adults with no background in kinesiology. The principles are counterintuitive only because you've heard the opposite for so long. If you have an open mind, then this will actually be much easier for you to coach.

Are other coaches/parents/players receptive to this?
I used to think that most coaches, parents, and players were not receptive to new coaching methods. And often, they are not. One thing we teach you is how to analyze video so that you can show players what they are doing different than NHLers in a game situation.
